When the janitor didn’t show up it ruined practice

Whenever the janitor didn’t show up at church last Wednesday night, it absolutely ruined our choir practice! Every one of us were right in the middle of a heat wave Last weekand the temperature outside was hovering around 80 degrees, even after the sunshine went down.

It was pretty terrible.

I, for a single, wasn’t about to spend any time somewhere without central air conditioner. That’s why I was so worried when I got to the church on Wednesday night to find that the control machine wasn’t turned down at all. The janitor of the church is supposed to show up an minute before the choir practice so that she can check the control machine settings & make sure that the air conditioner was working officially. That’s actually in her task description & so I didn’t feel bad about the fact that I was absolutely worried about him not showing up. I told him that if he’s not going to show up to set the control unit, then she should at least let myself and others think so that I can get there early enough to do it myself. Anyway, when we got to the church, the indoor air conditions in the choir room was certainly horrible. It felt so sizzling & humid in the choir room that there was no way possible to get the rehearsal going in there. Everyone knows that it’s strenuous to sing when it’s sizzling & humid, you can’t breathe honestly well & the indoor air conditions affects your vocal chords. It absolutely ruined our system for the choir for the week! Next week, I’m going to get there early & make sure that the air conditioner is running myself.
